Grégory Hofmann will play again in Zug after the end of his brief NHL adventure with Columbus Blue Jackets. The reigning Swiss champion club confirmed this on Tuesday morning.
Hofmann (29) will be able to scratch the ice with Zug as soon as all the transfer formalities with the NHL have been completed. He has a contract with the club until 2023. In 99 matches over two seasons, Grégory Hofmann had scored 48 goals and given 54 assists with the Zug team.
This return means that the Swiss champions will only be able to field four foreign players per match in the first game that Hofmann will play. The Swiss international returned home in December for the birth of his daughter. He chose to end his NHL stint for family reasons.
In 24 matches with the Blue Jackets, he had returned a record of 2 goals and 5 assists.
