Yankees retain Gary Sanchez rights
After missing their shot with Jacob Stallings, the New York Yankees decided to continue to trust Gary Sanchez.
The receiver will not become a free agent and the club have chosen to retain their rights.
This is no surprise given the receiver market. I would have been surprised to see him leave like this.
He will be eligible for arbitration and should therefore be under contract for the 2022 season eventually. He could earn, according to projections, around $ 7.5 million.
He will be a free agent in a year. At that point, he is expected to leave the Bronx since he is clearly not in the club’s plans.
If so, watch out for the Marlins. They like him and believe in him.
