Xherdan Shaqiri highest paid player in MLS in 2022!
This winter, Xherdan Shaqiri (30) left Olympique Lyonnais, six months after arriving from Liverpool, to join Chicago Fire. Crossing the Atlantic, the Swiss international (102 caps, 26 achievements) has also become the highest paid player in Major League Soccer, with $8.153 million (€7.73 million) in compensation for 2022, if we according to the figures published on Tuesday by the MLS Players Association.
The Swiss is ahead of Javier Hernandez (33), Mexican international striker from Los Angeles Galaxy earning $6 million (€5.7 million) this year, and Gonzalo Higuain (34), Argentinian international striker from Inter Miami who receives $5.793 million (€5.5 million) over the same period, on the podium. Note the 16th position of Frenchy Adrien Hunou (28 years old). The former Rennais, now at Minnesota United, will receive $2.687 million (€2.55 million).
