World Qatar 2022: the highest paid coaches, Africa red lantern


Finance Football magazine has unveiled the salary rankings of the coaches of the teams qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. A classification dominated by the German Hans-Dieter Flick while the African coaches polish the depths of the table.
The 2022 World Cup is fast approaching. The biggest sporting event, popular with round leather lovers, will be held from November 21 to December 18 in Qatar. 32 teams will take part in this tournament, including five African countries, qualified at the end of long qualifying phases which ruled out several giants of the continent, notably Algeria, Egypt and Nigeria.
Four months before this great sports mass, Finance Football magazine has unveiled the emoluments, not of the players, but of the 32 national coaches who will be on the benches of the teams. A list dominated by the German Hans-Dieter Flick who receives a salary of €6,500,000. The Mannschaft coach is followed in this ranking by England coach Gareth Southgate, who is at €5,800,000. The top 3 and completed by Didier Deschamps, winner of the 2018 World Cup with France, who comes in at €3,800,000.
From 4th to 10th place, we find the coaches, from the Netherlands, Louis van Gaal (€2,900,000), from Mexico, Gerardo Martino (€2,900,000), from Argentina, Lionel Scaloni (€2,600 .000), from Qatar, Félix Sánchez Bas (€2,400,000), from Portugal, Fernando Santos (€2,250,000) and from Switzerland, Murat Yakın (€1,600,000).
With a salary of €340,000, Rigobert Song is the first African coach on the list. The national coach of Cameroon occupies the 30th place in the ranking. The former captain of the Indomitable Lions is ahead of Aliou Cissé (Senegal, 31st €310,000) and Jalel Kadri (Tunisia, 32nd and therefore last with €130.00). Note that the coach of Morocco, the Franco-Bosnian is ranked 19th on the list with a salary of 920,000 euros.
