World Championship: a new NHL reinforcement for Fischer
Striker Pius Suter (25) will compete in the world championship with the Swiss team. The news was confirmed by Detroit Red Wings manager Steve Yzerman.
This season, Suter has scored 15 goals and provided 21 assists for his club. He is the sixth Swiss player playing in the NHL to strengthen Patrick Fischer’s selection for the Worlds in Finland. The competition will take place from May 13 to 29.
Before him, Dean Kukan (Columbus Blue Jackets), Janis Moser (Arizona Coyotes), Timo Meier (San Jose Sharks), Nico Hischier and Jonas Siegenthaler (both New Jersey Devils) had announced their presence. All finished their season in the NHL, their respective clubs not having qualified for the play-offs.
