Wilson returns to Andretti with Lohla Sport for the Indy 500

Stefan Wilson and new partner LOHLA SPORT will join Andretti Autosport for the 105th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge on Sunday, May 30, to round out the team’s six-car lineup.

Wilson will team up with the new women’s golf brand to race the #25 Honda LOHLA SPORT. Wilson, 31, from Sheffield, England, finished with a career-best 15 points.th and led three laps in the 2018 Indy 500 while driving for Andretti Autosport. He will be looking to make his third career start in « the greatest show in racing » and his second with Andretti.

“We are delighted not only to welcome Stefan back to the team, but also to have a new partner in LOHLA SPORT who is coming to experience his first Indy 500,” said Michael Andretti, president and CEO of Andretti Autosport. “We have a great history with the Wilson family, and we hope we can build on the successes we have had in the past next May. »

Said Wilson: “After leading laps with Andretti Autosport in the 2018 Indianapolis 500, I’m hungry to come back and finish the job. I’ve worked tirelessly to make this comeback happen, and I’m so grateful that LOHLA SPORT believed in me to represent them.

It’s a dream come true to join Andretti and once again team up with Honda in ‘the greatest show in racing’. The icing on the cake is that we have the opportunity to do so with a brand new company, LOHLA SPORT, a premium women’s clothing brand that is already captivating the world of golf. Among the fans and partners involved in the Indianapolis 500, we have a large number of golf enthusiasts, so I am delighted to introduce them to what LOHLA SPORT is all about.

“None of this would have been possible without Don and Carolyn Cusick, who are avid motor racing and golf fans and are also shareholders of LOHLA SPORT. This program also represents the birth of Cusick Motorsports, and I hope the 2021 Indianapolis 500 will be a stepping stone to many exciting opportunities for the Cusick Motorsports brand in the future. Finally, I’m grateful that Expedia’s VIP Access is joining this effort, along with Menlo Ventures, VSRS, and Liberty Group. »

Launched in January 2021, LOHLA SPORT quickly captivated the golf, country club and resort market. Born from the imagination of Lisa O’Hurley, an acclaimed fashionista, former Golf Channel and GOLFINO executive with over twenty years of experience in the industry, the brand displays an impeccable sense of style, with European designs colorful and trendy, and a touch of Los Angeles. Thanks to a formal collaboration with Paul Rees, London-based and famous designer of countless Burberry, Aquascutum and GOLFINO hits, LOHLA SPORT is present in over a hundred exclusive golf boutiques from coast to coast.

« It’s not every day that you go down this cool route that expands the market into Indy, » O’Hurley said. “LOHLA SPORT is proud to support women who love golf and love all sports, as our outfits are suitable for the course, the court, the racetrack and everywhere in between. »

Cusick Motorsports, established by Don and Carolyn Cusick as a motor racing business incubator, VIP Access, Expedia’s network of invitation-only premium properties, VSRS, specializing in building exclusive relationships in the automotive sector, Menlo Ventures, an investment company that has backed more than 70 public companies, and Liberty Group, which specializes in wealth management, tax planning and inheritance law, are also participating in this effort.

« As a lifelong INDYCAR fan, I’ve always wanted to see the ‘500’ live, but I’ve never been able to make it until now, » said Don Cusick. Fortunately, the stars aligned this year, starting with selling my business to an Indianapolis-based private equity firm, joining Thermal Club, a « private » members-only running complex, and purchase of a Hendrick Motorsports Attack NASCAR track, which led me to meet Stefan Wilson and create this amazing partnership.

“After asking Stefan if he had any contacts for prime seats at Indy and jokingly telling him that the best seat would be where he got his butt, it turns out I got the second-best seat in home as sponsor of the #25 Andretti Autosport Indy car driven by Stefan. LOHLA SPORT is a company I have invested in and is owned by our family friend, Lisa O’Hurley. I couldn’t be more excited for the month of May and this opportunity to sponsor Stefan Wilson, one of the greatest people in motorsport.”

The #25 LOHLA SPORT Honda and Stefan Wilson will make their 2021 NTT INDYCAR SERIES debut on opening day Tuesday, May 18, before the green flag is waved for the 105th race of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday. May 30, with live coverage on NBC and the INDYCAR radio network.
