The Minnesota Wild have granted a seven-year contract extension worth $49 million to Matt BoldyMonday.
The 21-year-old forward, who will earn an average annual salary of $7 million starting in the 2023-24 season, could have become a restricted free agent at the end of the next season.
Boldy, 21, has 29 points (12 goals, 17 assists) in 42 games this season, his second in the NHL. He got 15 of those points on the power play, including five goals.

Selected by the Wild in the first round (12th overall) in the 2019 NHL Draft, Boldy has 68 points (27 goals, 41 assists) in 89 regular season games with Minnesota. He scored one goal in six Stanley Cup Playoff games.
