Why the transfer of Djiku (Strasbourg) to Hoffenheim went wrong

While a transfer from Alexander Djiku to Hoffenheim seemed to be on the right track, the file was finally closed. If some media have put forward the hypothesis of too high a commission claimed by the agent (also brother) of the player, on the side of the Strasbourg player, we defend ourselves.

While a transfer from Alexander Djiku to Hoffenheim seemed practically complete, the file did not materialize in the end. Some media have put forward a major reason: the player’s licensed FFF agent, who is also his brother, has claimed an increased commission, deemed too high by the German club.

Intermediaries put on the file by Hoffenheim

After a counter-proposal formulated by each side – with a request that would be quite significantly lower than the amounts advanced Thursday by the press – the entourage of Alexander Djiku claims to have received an ultimatum to accept the last offer concerning the commission of agent of sports management which was 7% (therefore much lower than the 10% possible according to contract regulations in France).

The negotiations took time, the sports management ended up turning their backs on leaving the negotiations to intermediaries for good. And while a verbal agreement had been reached on Thursday morning, Alexander Djiku remained awaiting receipt of the written proposal… which did not arrive, despite several reminders and a new trip there.

« We felt under pressure », we are told in the clan of the 27-year-old defender, who discovered, on the return trip from Hoffenheim to Strasbourg, leaks in the press with arguments that they judge untruthful, concerning the supposed gluttony around the agent’s commission. Since then, the Hoffenheim track has closed. While preparing alone while waiting to find the coach with Strasbourg, Alexander Djiku is preparing to find the Alsatian group, without ruling out a departure by the end of the transfer window. His entourage also ensures that there is no tension with the president of the RCSA, who would have understood the situation perfectly.
