why Mbappé appears with a Dodgers jersey
In a nod to the resumption of the baseball season, Kylian Mbappé appeared on social networks with a Dodgers jersey, the Los Angeles franchise he had visited in 2019.
The day after his statements leaving doubt about his future, Kylian Mbappé (22) has found a little lightness on social networks. He appeared with a Dodgers jersey on his Instagram account to greet the launch (Opening Day) of the baseball season.
In 2019, the French star took advantage of his vacation in the United States to attend several US Sports events such as the NBA final between Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors. He had also met LeBron James before, therefore, going to an MLB (Major League Baseball) game in the Los Angeles franchise.
Bat in hand and cap on his head, the striker had visited the facilities, greeted the players of the team, performed some juggling on the lawn of Dodger Stadium and released a jersey of the franchise flocked to number 10. He had even performed a few throws.
The Dodgers franchise is well known on the side of… Marseille. It belonged to Frank McCourt, current owner of the Marseille club, between 2004 and 2012. The businessman had left a very bitter memory to the fans despite four appearances in the playoffs and three division titles won. During his reign, attendance at the stadium had dropped dramatically. He eventually sold the franchise for two billion euros after acquiring it for 386 million euros.
Since then, the Dodgers have been doing much better on the pitch as they won the World Series in 2020 for the seventh time in their history. The baseball season therefore resumed Thursday with the public in the stadiums. The Dodgers lost like the Colorado Rockies (8-5).
