Syma: a really cheap MVNO

His name is Symaand it appeared on the French Telecoms market in 2008. This MVNO (translate « new virtual mobile network operator ») usually offers non-binding packages that use the network of its partner SFR.

There are 4 packages in its range: 3 of them are subscriptions in 4G for less than 10€the fourth being reserved for a very large envelope of giga in 5G: 210 GB at 19.99€.

The 3 compatible packages

We start small with « The 4 », a mini-package at €4.99 for 10 GB and unlimited telephony in France and throughout Europe and the overseas departments. It’s quite enough to stay reachable in all circumstances, and manage your day-to-day business: read your emails, follow your social networks, listen to some music… For entertainment, on the other hand, it’s better to connect from your fixed Internet subscription, unless you have Wi-Fi available.

For €3 more per month, the data envelope quadruple, but not only. Indeed, with « The 7 »the telephony formula is supplemented by calls to landlines and mobiles in Europe, area from which you can use up to 8 GB of the overall envelope. Syma also adds unlimited telephony to landlines in around a hundred international destinations, so you don’t lose contact with your friends elsewhere.

The telephony offer is identical for the package « The 9 »who proposes a 100 GB Internet envelope for just €10, thus joining the best offers on the market at this price. Streaming, scrolling, and gaming are yours! In Europe, then 10 GB of the envelope will be consumable.

Options to « pimp » your plan

Syma could have stopped there, but he also plays the map of flexibility and made-to-measure. A bit like a seller of pre-paid cards, he offers options and passes to enrich his package on an ad hoc basis:

• an option at 4€ to add to the mini-package 30 days of unlimited calls to European mobiles and to landlines in around a hundred destinations abroad;
• an « International Pass » €10, and another €20, to call around sixty destinations at preferential rates: the number of minutes available depends on the country chosen;
• a “Roaming USA” option, valid for 30 days, for your trips across the Atlantic: unlimited calls and SMS anywhere in the USA and to France, with 5 GB of mobile Internet;
• giga refills €5 and €10, for an additional 5 or 10 GB.
