The Kamloops Blazers made a gigantic trade last night by picking up the defender Olen Zellweger as well as the striker Ryan hofer who played at the Everett Silvertips in the WHL. In return, the club gave up four players as well as 10 draft picks, including 4 from the first round! Zellweger, the Anaheim Ducks’ 2021 pick, won gold at the recent world juniors. He has 28 points in 23 games.

Another disproportionate transfer was the one made by the Winnipeg Ice who got their hands on another junior gold medalist, Zack Ostapchuk of the Vancouver Giants. In return, the club gave up four starters, three 1st round picks and a 5th round pick. Ostapchuk is a pick of the Ottawa Senators.
