Porsche 911 Dakar: terribly desirable!
Porsche pays homage to the 911 “953” which won the Paris-Dakar Rally in 1984 with this highly accomplished off-road version.
The Porsche 911 Dakar is 5 cm higher than a classic version, but a lift system allows the body to be raised by an additional 3 cm.
Thus, the ground clearance of this all-terrain Porsche exceeds 20 cm, more than a BMW X1 or a Jeep Compass! This limited edition (2,500 units) adopts a specific rear spoiler and the CFRP (carbon fiber) bonnet from the 911 GT3.
We also notice elements from the off-road world, for example towing eyes, fender flares and reshaped side skirts with steel protection parts. How to attack the African deserts? Maybe not.
But at least enough to go all the way without having any apprehension. Flat 6 and 4×4 The 911 Dakar uses the 3-liter twin-turbo flat 6-cylinder engine that serves as the basis for the entire range.
It delivers 480 hp and a maximum torque of 570 Nm, which allows it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 s and reach a top speed of 240 km/h. This is a self-limited speed due to the presence of specific tyres, reinforced Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain.
Porsche indicates that these tires offer high-level dynamic performance both off-road and on the road, but still offers Pirelli PZeros as an option…
The 911 Dakar is fitted as standard with all-wheel drive with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, rear-wheel steering and a PDCC active chassis.
Technologies that allow, according to the German manufacturer, to provide the same driving dynamics on sand or gravel as on the Nürburgring. A statement that we look forward to verifying!
Offered from €226,689, the Porsche 911 Dakar can also be equipped with a Rallye Design pack which is mainly decorative and which includes rims painted in white for the sum of €26,280. By counting the penalty and a few options, it is therefore possible to cross the €300,000 mark.

New Toyota Prius: it stops the hybrid!
As crazy as it may sound, this fifth generation turns its back on the technology that made it so successful. Explanations.
The Prius has long been almost the only one to carry a thermal and electric coupling called “simple”, that is to say non-rechargeable.
Today, the market is full of competitors, including Toyota, and it is for this reason that this future generation will only be available (from next spring) as a plug-in hybrid in Europe.
On the other hand, it will continue its route in “standard” hybrid on the other side of the Atlantic. In a very different style from its predecessor, less experimental and more fluid, the Prius 5 even looks like a Tesla Model 3 from certain angles.
Shorter, lower, wider and more powerful than the previous model, it is heading towards premium, hiding its rear door handles in the pillars and adopting a modernized light signature.
Under its hood, a 2-litre combustion engine develops 148 hp. It is associated with a 160 hp electric block, for a cumulative power of 223 hp. The auxiliary battery, 13.6 kWh, is supposed to increase the all-electric range by 50% compared to the current model, or 75 km in the combined cycle.

The “haute couture” Fiat 500e arrives in the United States
Fiat unveiled in Los Angeles three special series of its electric 500, which it will launch across the Atlantic in early 2024. For the occasion, it approached three big names in fashion and design, with whom it created collaborations: Armani, Kartell and Bulgari.
The Armani version will be delivered exclusively in matte gray, with a laser-engraved inscription on the body. Retro rims, the GA logo on the hood will be other distinctive signs, as will the full-grain Poltrona Frau leather upholstery.
The Kartell finish will be defined in a spirit of material recycling, with certain elements made from recycled polycarbonate.
As for the Bulgari livery, the B.500 By Bulgari “Mai Troppo” is intended to be the most spectacular, with inserts of semi-precious stones as well as very colorful themes on the side of the seats and on the front of the dashboard.
Among the changes to come in the automotive landscape in France, the ZFE (Low Emission Zones) will gradually expand in 2023 and 2024 in the major cities of France. https://t.co/FwvpgcCluw

Hyundai N Vision 74: 680 hp with hydrogen
Inspired by the 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupé concept designed by Giugiaro, the Hyundai N Vision 74 foreshadows the style of the Korean manufacturer’s sports electric models. N Performance will be the name of this line, like Alpine at Renault or GTX at Volkswagen.
The N Vision 74 concept is electric but it features a fuel cell that powers a 62.4 kWh battery. Housed in the floor, it drives two engines located at the rear which, together, deliver 680 hp and 900 Nm of torque.
The two motors work independently, in order to distribute the power and use the energy wisely. Nothing is specified on the weight of such a model, but if we consider the batteries, the fuel cell and the hydrogen tanks, it seems obvious that the machine is very heavy.
Technical coquetry, this concept can also recharge its batteries directly on a terminal, like a classic electric car. At the moment, this all sounds very experimental but could result in an efficient, exhaust-clean sports car by 2025.
