Performance of the week

Kansas City Chiefs [1-0] @Arizona Cardinals [0-1] : 44-21

This meeting was announced as one of the shocks of the week, but Kansas City unfolded. In the wake of a gala Patrick Mahomes (30/39, 360 yds, 5 TD), the Chiefs made short work of almost harmless Cardinals. We thought Andy Reid’s men a tone below in attack after the departure of Tyreek Hill, it only took a week to prove the opposite.

The surprise of the week

Denver Broncos [0-1] @ Seattle Seahawks [1-0] : 16-17

For the first game of his career at LumenField as a visitor, Russell Wilson got tricked. If the Broncos neo-quarterback was pretty good (29/42, 340 yds, 1 TD), Seattle was able to rely on a good Geno Smith (23/28, 195 yds, 2 TD) and took advantage of errors of playcalling from Denver to create the feat. A good way to remember that in the NFL, no game is played in advance.

The curiosity of the week

Indianapolis Colts [0-0-1] @Houston Texans [0-0-1] : 20-20 (TO)

In one week, there will therefore have been as many draws in the NFL as in all of last season. In a meeting where Houston has long led, Colts and Texans ended up leaving back to back. Indianapolis can harbor regrets, especially since kicker Rodrigo Blankenship – cut since – had the victory at the end of the foot in overtime. Note that a second draw – between the Steelers and the Bengals – almost took place, which would have been a first for a long time in the NFL.

Louis Rousseau

The words « Minnesota Miracle » and « No-Call » are scratched from my vocabulary. My heart mourns the retirement of Drew Brees and the loneliness of RJ Barrett in Madison Square Garden.
