« We have to get to work » – Tom Brady
Even though it’s his 23rd season in the NFL, quarterback Tom Brady still hates losing.
Sunday night, the 40-year-old was in a bad mood after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost 41-31 to the Kansas City Chiefs. Brady still had his best game of the season, completing 39 of 52 passes for 385 yards and three touchdowns.
« It was a little better than our previous way of playing, but it wasn’t good enough, » the center said at a press conference. We are here for a reason and it is not to move the ball. We are here to score more points than the other team. We weren’t good with our ground game. We could have done much better with our aerial game. We have to get to work.”
Faced with the band of Patrick Mahomes, the ground game of the « Bucs » was non-existent. The crowd favorites at Raymond James Stadium ran with the ball six times for a measly three yards…
“It’s not just one thing. I’m sure it’s a couple of things, » Brady said of the situation.
“We need to take the time to assess it and do a better job. We’re not going to pitch all the time. We have a lot of good players who are able to run. We have a line [offensive] who does a good job with the ground game. We just haven’t found our rhythm. »
a fright
Buccaneers fans (2-2) and Brady supporters held their breath in the second quarter of the duel against the Chiefs. The 45-year-old quarterback never saw cornerback L’Jarius Sneed rush at him and he was hit hard in the back. The holder of seven Super Bowl rings fumbled the ball on the streak and clutched his right shoulder as he struggled to his feet.
Afterward on the sidelines, Brady continued to hold his shoulder and practice throwing balls for about five minutes.
« It’s going to be fine, that’s football, » the pivot said simply when asked about a possible injury.
Brady and the Buccaneers return to action this Sunday when the Atlanta Falcons visit Florida.
