Washington to remove number 21 from Sean Taylor


Since 2007 and the death of Sean Taylor, no one has worn the number 21 in Washington.

This Sunday, during the game against the Chiefs, it is officially that his number will be withdrawn by the franchise, which announced it this Thursday. The ceremony will take place before the meeting.

A street leading to the stadium will also be renamed “Sean Taylor road. On the field, the players will wear a stickers with the number 21 on their helmets.

Drafted in fifth position in the 2004 Draft, Taylor established himself as a reference in his position before being shot dead during a burglary in the middle of the 2007 season.

Sammy Baugh (33) and Bobby Mitchell (49) are the only two other players whose numbers have been withdrawn in Washington.
