Wardi finally agreed to stay

INFO RMC SPORT. Left pillar Reda Wardi, who had signed up for Montpellier, finally decided to stay in La Rochelle. He gave his consent to the maritime leaders.

It’s a totally unexpected turnaround. A few weeks ago, Reda Wardi, at the end of his contract at the Stade Rochelais, had committed to Montpellier to get closer to his mother. A region and a club that he knows well from having grown up there and completed his training. Everything was even completed with a two-year contract. But the situation has changed a lot since October.

Because according to information from RMC Sport, the solid left pillar of 26 years has finally decided to stay at the Stade Rochelais. He announced it to his leaders last week as well as in Montpellier. Unhappy finalist of the Top 14 and the Champions Cup, against Stade Toulousain, Wardi was used regularly last season, to the point of being followed by the staff of the XV of France.

Big competition with Paiva

Since the start of the season, Wardi has played eleven Top 14 games (including six as a starter) while having been lined up from the start on the first day of the Champions Cup against Glasgow. Before injuring himself against Lyon at the end of December.

Unless there is a new turnaround, Wardi will therefore always be there for a big competition with Thierry Paiva. The current Bordeaux-Bègles player will indeed wear the colors of the maritime club next season, as announced last November.
