4th edition of this sporting event for young and old, with several disciplines that are off the beaten track (slackline, archery, panna football, etc.).

The passage of the Ufolep caravan in summer in Villefranche has become a tradition. After good attendance for the first three years, with around 500 registrations per week, the association returns next week for a fourth edition, from July 17 to 21. This free event, which will invest five days during the heart of the city with the Place Notre-Dame and the Saint-Jean, as well as the Tricot district, « is fully in line with the sports policy of the municipality, which wants in particular to bring physical activities to the greatest number of people, and in particular the audiences who are most often distant from them »indicates the municipality.

« Integration Vector »

“Sport is a vector of integration and creator of social ties. These are the values ​​defended by Ufolep”, supports Yunis Lee, development agent within the association. Moreover, the last seasons in Villefranche have taken place under the sign of diversity, with almost half of participants in the event. The event will take place in the afternoons from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. From Monday 17 to Wednesday 19 July in the bastide (place Notre-Dame on 17 and place Saint-Jean on 18 and 19) and Thursday 20 and Friday 21 July in the district of Knitting.

16 workshops will be offered, supervised either by facilitators, qualified instructors, or by young people from the neighborhoods. « On the program, known activities, but which one does not necessarily practice all the time, and others which will be real discoveries and get off the beaten track »says Yunis Lee.

Sports: climbing wall, pannafoot, home-ball, wholeball, wexball, Kubb / Gabaky, slackline, archery, Hip-hop, Ultimate, rifle, disc-golf, health sports… In addition an addiction prevention workshop led by the Village 12 PAEJ.

This operation, which mobilizes a budget of 10,700 €, benefits from the support of the State and the municipality to the tune of 3,500 € each under the city policy.

The other appointments

Pannafoot (pictured). On a very small playing area (4×6 meters), two players compete face-to-face in a three-minute match. The goal ? Score as many as possible.

Wexball. You must first install the board, called wex, in the middle of the field. The goal is to send the ball to his opponent by necessarily making a rebound on the wex and preventing his opponent from doing the same action.

Home ball. Two teams face each other on a completely closed square ground, surrounded by nets with small cages. The goal is to put the ball, by hand or foot, in these cages.
