VIDEO – The Porsche 963 tested at Monza

Not one, but two examples of the Porsche 963 took to the track at Monza this week. The German team thus brought its new Hypercars to the Temple of Speed for testing, with Laurens Vanthoor at the wheel in particular. The two cars were notably spotted by a surfer, who shared some video clips on his Twitter account, which you can find below.

The official racing debut of the Hypercar of Porsche are still scheduled for the 24 Hours of Daytona, at the end of January 2023. At least, officially. A presence from the 8 Hours of Bahrain, the final round of the WEC season on November 12 is indeed likely, even if the Stuttgart manufacturer has not yet confirmed its presence.

» The probability of seeing us there is indeed more than very high, said Jonathan Diuguid, director of management when the livery was revealed at Goodwood. We have to make sure that the car will be reliable enough beforehand, but you can never be sure of the potential of the team and the car until you have competed in a single race. The first opportunity will be Bahrain this year. We are going to approach it as a life-size test session, a trial run, with the desire to push the equipment in a competition context. But no conclusions should be drawn from the Bahrain event. »

In the meantime, the tests continue. Note also that one of the two Porsches seen at Monza was dressed in its simplest device, without any distinctive livery.
