Victor Vazquez returns to MLS with the Galaxy
For his return to MLS, Victor Vazquez will be reunited with coach Greg Vanney.
Los Angeles Galaxy have announced the signing of the former Toronto FC star midfielder.
Vazquez, 34, is an alumnus of the organization of the Academy of La Masia in Barcelona. After a stint with Barca, Club Brugge and Cruz Azul, Vazquez joined TFC in 2017.
He was a key part of Toronto FC’s conquests of the Canadian Championship, the Supporters’ Shield and the MLS Cup. Vazquez was also the author of a goal in the 2-0 victory in the MLS Cup final against the Seattle Sounders.
He was also chosen in the best XI of the MLS in 2017.
Vazquez’s second and final season in Toronto was marked by injuries, which limited him to 21 games.
After leaving Toronto, Vazquez spent two seasons in Qatar before going to play in Belgium, but he asked to be released in October for personal reasons.
The Galaxy will open its season on April 25 against the New York Red Bulls.
