With its 7,912 members, the Regional sports retirement committee has the role of taking charge in particular of the communication around healthy sports for seniors.
It also provides 100 hours of training per sports activities facilitator, the search for facilitators and instructors, as well as support for the creation of clubs.
Neither performance nor competition

The Corers is a public utility association, bearing the Senior Health Sport label since 2018. The activity is open to all seniors aged 50 and over. The activities are adapted to the public. Here, no performance or competition.
« 62% of people who are about to retire have not done any sport during their career, mainly women », reveals a study conducted by Corers.
While senior sports activity facilitates social link, “it also helps to fight against a sedentary lifestyle and the prevention of falls. Physical activity strengthens the muscular system and delays the effects of physical and cognitive aging. We are working a lot on these aspects, ”says the president of the region.

Between 50 and 55 € per year
The average cost of registration in the territory is 50 to 55 € for the yearregardless of the number of activities performed in the club.
While the City of La Roche-sur-Yon alone identifies 1381 members within the Sports Association of Yonnais retirees (ASRY), with its 27 activitiesthe Corers recalls its surrounding location and its ability to increase its offerings.
Accessible to all municipalities
The municipalities of La Ferriere, Venansault, Aubigny Les Clouzeaux and Poiré-sur-Vieas well as several municipalities in the department, have their own club with activities accessible to all seniors.
Marie-Christine Blache reminds other municipalities that it is always possible to create new clubs with targeted activities.
“It’s our role to support local players on these projects,” she recalls.
