The Las Vegas Golden Kinghts qualified for the second round of the NHL play-offs on Friday by defeating the Minnesota Wild (6-2), in the seventh game of their series (4-3). The Swede Mattias Janmark offered himself a hat-trick in this final clash.
After conceding the opener, Minnesota had equalized, twice, before cracking at the end of the second third (2-4), Janmark then sealed the score in the last period.
In the next round, Vegas will face the Colorado Avalanche of Pierre-Édouard Bellemare, who is one of the favorites this season. A duel at the top between the two best teams in the NHL this season (82 points each) and rivals in the West Division. The series will begin on Sunday in Denver.
