Up to 300 euros of additional aid for the purchase of a VAE, everywhere in France
On July 25, as part of the amending finance bill for 2022, the deputies provided new details concerning the conditions of access to the purchase of an electrically assisted bicycle (VAE). In addition to the additional aid of 100 euros for the purchase of an e-bike, it will now also be possible to claim aid of up to 40% of the purchase price for a folding bike. The conversion bonus will also evolve, as will aid for the most precarious or disabled users.
Attention, this device taking effect from August 15, the new amounts are not yet updated on the sites and tools of the Government.
The decline in the purchasing power of French people, strongly impacted by the increase in fuel prices coupled with the increase in environmental considerations, is leading more and more users to integrate soft mobility into their daily journeys. Significantly cheaper than a car, practical for getting around town, bringing your children to school or getting around to do your shopping, electrically assisted bicycles (VAE) are constantly gaining in popularity. To continue to encourage this momentum for non-polluting vehicles, from August 15 (and until December 31, 2022), the State will set up additional bonuses, especially for the most modest households. .
Electrically assisted bicycles
Who can benefit ?
Anyone can claim this offer, provided they are of legal age and domiciled in France and have a reference tax income per unit less than or equal to €13,489. In addition, it is no longer necessary to have to receive local aid (town hall, region, agglomeration, department) to benefit from aid for the purchase of an electrically assisted bicycle (VAE).
For what amount?
The maximum amount of aid increases to 100 euros and now increases from 200 to 300 euros throughout the territory.
What are the steps to follow ?
The aid must be requested within 6 months of the invoice date of the bicycle. To benefit from it, you must go to primealaconversion.gouv.fr and send the identifier or the marking of your bike (mandatory element since January 1, 2021) providing :
• the purchase invoice mentioning the identifier
• or a certificate from your approved identification operator
Once this is done, go to the “Access teleservice” tab.
Increase in aid levels for the most precarious or disabled
Who can benefit ?
People with disabilities and households whose income is less than 1350 euros per month (first two deciles).
For what amount?
Regarding electrically assisted bicycles (VAE), the maximum amount of aid increases from 200 to 400 euros. For special bikes (cargo bike type), an increase of €1000 will be introduced.
Finally, from August 15, aid of 150 euros for the purchase of a classic bicycle (mechanical) will also be put in place.
What are the steps to follow ?
The aid must be requested within 6 months of the invoice date of the bicycle. To benefit from it, you must go to primealaconversion.gouv.fr and send the identifier or the marking of your bike (mandatory element since January 1, 2021) providing :
• the purchase invoice mentioning the identifier
• or a certificate from your approved identification operator
Once this is done, go to the “Access teleservice” tab.
Conversion bonus extended to the purchase of a bicycle per person in the household
Who can benefit ?
To benefit from the conversion bonus, you must be of legal age and be domiciled in France.
For what amount?
From now on, when scrapping your old car, you will be able to access the conversion bonus, up to €3,000 for each person in your household. Previously, only one person per household could benefit from it. Its maximum amount thus increases from 1,500 to 3,000 euros, within the limit of 40% of the acquisition price.
What are the steps to follow ?
As of August 15, you will have to go to the primealaconversion.gouv.fr website and submit your application there. You will then be asked for several supporting documents.

Creation of a bonus folding bikes
Who can benefit ?
Anyone can claim this offer, provided they are of age and domiciled in France and have a reference tax income per share equal to or less than €13,489.

All folding bikes are concerned (no details are yet given on the electrical or mechanical nature of the bike).
