Union and LAFC reach MLS finals
A 59th-minute goal from Leon Flach gave the home side victory, finishing the season ranked 1st in the East with a record of 19 wins, 5 losses and 10 draws which earned them 67 points .
The Union benefited from a bye in the first round of playoffs, where CF Montreal (20-9-5), 2nd in the East, defeated Orlando City 2-0 last Sunday.
FC Cincinnati needed to win in Philadelphia for Montreal to hope to host the Eastern Final. The winner of this Sunday’s game, at Stade Saputo, between the Bleu-blanc-noir and New York City FC, will therefore have to go to Pennsylvania on October 30.

LAFC in the Western final
Cristian Arango moved the ropes in the third minute of second-half stoppage time as Los Angeles FC beat the Los Angeles Galaxy 3-2.
Kellyn Acosta headed his corner kick into the center of the penalty area and Denis Bouanga fired a shot that Galaxy goalkeeper Jonathan Bond blocked. Arango jumped on the return to give Los Angeles FC the lead.
Bouanga threaded the needle twice for Los Angeles FC, who won the Supporter’s Shieldawarded to the team with the most points in MLS.
Los Angeles FC have reached the Western Conference Finals and will now face the winner of Sunday’s game between FC Dallas and Austin FC.
Samuel Grandsir and Dejan Joveljic replied for the Galaxy.
