Uganda - Premier League: Arua Hill surprises Vipers SC

The new year starts off on a bad note for Vipers SC. During his trip to Barifa stadium for Matchday 14 of the Ugandan championship, the leaders were beaten to the tune 1-0 by Arua Hill FC.

Vipers SC missed the chance to hold KCCA FC on the sidelines at the top of the championship. With 29 points or just 1 point difference over the Kasasiro Boys, they could consolidate their leader’s chair with 32 points if they had been able to beat Arua Hill FC. But the hosts decided otherwise and won on the smallest of margins. Arua Hill FC pulled off his revival move after the 4-0 loss to BUL FC.

To get there, they scored just one goal thanks to a signing from Leku in the 10th minute. He is 5 points behind Vipers SC which remains leader of the championship with 29 points. However, the Venoms could lose their place if KCCA FC win tomorrow Wednesday against Mbarara City after they are also one game behind.

Results of the day:

Wakiso Giants 4-3 BUL FC

Gaddafi 1-1 URA

Bright Stars 1-0 SC Villa

UPDF 0-1 Police FC

Tooro United FC 0-2 Express FC

Arua Hill 1-0 Vipers SC
