CAF has appointed the referee team for the match between Uganda and Ghana for the U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers. Ethiopian referee Lydia Tadesse Abebe will be on the whistle accompanied by her compatriots Wonshet Abera and Birtukan Mamo.
This Saturday, January 22, 2022, Lydia Tadesse Abebe will experience another professional experience in addition to what she had in her career. In 2020, she entered the history of African football by officiating the match Namibia against Tanzania during the CHAN tournament in Cameroon. This year, she was again asked by CAF to lead the match between Uganda and Ghana which will take place in Kitende.
The Ethiopian will be assisted by her compatriots Wonshet Abera and Birtukan Mamo as first and second assistant referees. Another Ethiopian, Tsehaynesh Abebe, will be the fourth official. Kenya’s Margaret Omondi will be the match commissioner while Sabelo Sibindi of Zimbabwe will be the referee assessor.
