Ty Gibbs out of NASCAR Finals

Newly titled Xfinity Series Champion, NASCAR’s second division, Ty Gibbs suffered the pain of losing his father Coy overnight. Coy Gibbs was a shareholder with his father Joe Gibbs of Joe Gibbs Racing, the flagship team of the Toyota clan.

Ty will be replaced for the final by Daniel Hemric who will make his third career start for the occasion.

Coy Gibbs was present on Saturday evening on the Phoenix circuit to see his son win and win the Xfinity title. Tributes have followed one another since the announcement and the final will of course be dedicated to the memory of this great entrepreneur and motor sports enthusiast, including a minute of silence.
