They dream big Pauline Chabanois and Romane Comte, and they are right.
These two young girls are joining the Robert-Schuman high school, in Metz, for the start of the 2022 school year. Its particularity: a football section very popular with football enthusiasts in the Grand Est. It takes a good deal of work and passion to integrate the device.
The last stage of selection took place in April. Sixteen out of fifty girls will now form the next nucleus. Pauline and Romane will have their training inserted into their schedule, and around them, a multidisciplinary team for their physical care (physiotherapist, osteopath, etc.). The two footballers will have to expect six hours of training, three hours of PE as well as the matches on Saturday, without forgetting their lessons and homework.
« Even if we are a little stressed about going to boarding school, we are very happy to be part of the selection and to be able to follow such training where everything is integrated » underlines Romane before adding « before we had training with the football class (A.Theuriet college), plus our training sessions at the BFC in the evening, plus our matches on Saturdays. It was difficult at times to manage the homework. There, we will also have times planned for that in the evening, it will be a different organization! »
The dream: to reach the French women’s football team
Conditions and an arrangement created so that the professional project is not sidelined. Even if the objective and the dream of the two footballers is to reach the French women’s football team, they know that it is a player per thousand who rises to that point.
Following the news of their integration into Schuman, Romane’s dad wanted to thank, and invite around a pancake, the various coaches of the clubs, frequented by the two girls since their first ball shots. “Without them, nothing would have been possible for them. They were essential to their evolution and to where they are today. “It is between the BFC and the club of Sermaize-les-Bains, for Pauline, and those of Combles-en-Barrois, Fains-Véel and the BFC, for Romane, that their heart swung. A heart firmly attached to their love of the ball since it was not without constraint and bitterness that they sometimes had to make their place during their young debut. It is within the BFC that they will remain licensed this year and that they will play in future matches.
