Two-time WNBA champion Kristi Toliver joins the Mavericks’ staff | NBA
Kristi Toliver is a familiar face on the NBA Tour. At 34, the Los Angeles Sparks back, still active, has made rather good progress in his retraining process. Double WNBA and Euroleague champion Kristi Toliver will have her second experience as an assistant in the NBA.
She had already pioneered in 2018 by becoming the first active WNBA player to join an NBA staff in Washington, while playing at the Mystics. Today, she is under contract until 2022 with the Sparks, and at the start of the school year, ESPN announces that Kristi Toliver will thus take the direction of Dallas to join the staff of Jason Kidd, still as an assistant.
In the NBA, only six women have a position in a staff: Becky Hammon (Spurs), Lindsey Harding (Kings), Sonia Raman (Grizzlies), Theresa Weatherspoon (Pelicans), Jenny Boucek (Pacers) and therefore Kristi Toliver with the Mavs.
