In a statement released on Friday, Villarreal announced the cancellation of its next three friendlies, after two club members tested positive for Covid-19.
During a routine check to which players, coaches and staff from the direct environment of the first team must regularly undergo, two people tested positive for Covid-19.

Too « Taking into account any contact cases and the incubation period of the virus, and with the aim of preserving health and integrity in all circumstances », the Spanish club considered it more reasonable to cancel their planned trips this week to Hungary, where the players were to face Budapest Honved, and Austria, where they were to face Dynamo Kiev (July 26) and Hertha Berlin (the July 28).
The team will therefore remain in training at the Ciudad Deportiva and will seek to replace their two friendlies with matches in the region to continue their preparation.
