Used to winning wherever he went before making the jump to the NFL, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is starting to get fed up with losing.
Last Sunday, the « Jags » dropped flag 23 to 17 against the Indianapolis Colts. It was their seventh loss in nine games in 2021.
Lawrence, however, had the opportunity to give victory to his people in this duel. With less than a minute to go, the pivot dropped the ball after being struck behind the line of scrimmage and his rivals recovered the object.
« It’s just sad when a game ends like this, » Lawrence said during post-game press conferences. I am disappointed and frustrated with myself, but I know where we are from. We have a locker room full of guys, coaches and players who believe in it and we are on the right track. ”
“This loss hurts, however, because I’m frustrated with myself,” continued the first pick of the last NFL draft. I was lucky to win this duel and I must succeed. I had no doubt we were going to win. The whole attack believed it. I had to finish the job. ”
Since the start of this campaign, Lawrence has completed 58% of the passes he attempted for gains of 1983 yards and eight touchdowns. He was also the victim of nine interceptions.
The Clemson Tigers product will try to redeem itself next Sunday, when the San Francisco 49ers visit Jacksonville.
