Travis Peterson new team leader at McDowell

In 2023, Travis Peterson will be Michael McDowell’s team manager in the NASCAR Cup Series, he will succeed Blake Harris.

The two Front Row Motorsports team bosses in place in 2022 will no longer be present in the team in 2023. Travis Peterson will take over from Blake Harris as boss of the No. 34 Ford, while that of the No. 38 by Todd Gilliland will be named at a later date.

Michael McDowell’s crew chief, Blake Harris is leaving Front Row Motorsports for Hendrick Motorsports where he will be Alex Bowman’s crew chief. To replace Blake Harris, Front Row Motorsports has made the youth bet with 31-year-old Travis Peterson. Travis Peterson will serve as crew chief for Michael McDowell while he served Roush Fenway Racing for the past five years as race engineer for Chris Buescher, Ryan Newman and Matt Kenseth.

I think there are a lot of people in NASCAR garages noticing what Front Row Motorsports has accomplished with the new car as well as their truck program.

Seth Barbour was Todd Gilliland’s team manager, but he has just been named the team’s technical director. Ryan Bergenty, who was car manager for #34, has been appointed performance director, so he will oversee chassis assembly.

Although the drivers have not yet been confirmed by Front Row Motorsports for 2023, both Michael McDowell and Todd Gilliland have expressed their desire to remain with this team. Michael McDowell brought the team the first victory in the NASCAR Cup Series, on the occasion of the DAYTONA 500 2021.
