Francesco Antonucci is still popular in Troyes. The young attacking midfielder from Feyenoord (22) already pleased Aube leaders this summer, who had made an offer of € 2.5 million to their Dutch counterparts on August 31, the last day of the transfer window.
At the time, the sports management of the Rotterdam club had rejected it, believing that it was counting on the Belgian international Espoirs, who had done the preseason with the first team. However, an ankle injury kept the player off the field until the end of October and the former Monegasque then only played with the under-23 team (2 goals and 6 assists in 7 matches) and once in a friendly with the pros (1 assist).
An offer of 2 million in preparation
In search of a winter recruit to densify its midfield from the beginning of January, ESTAC, owned by the City Group, still hopes to recruit Antonucci. A transfer offer estimated at €2 million is already under consideration to buy out his contract, which runs until the summer of 2024.
When he was recruited in the summer of 2017 by Monaco from Ajax, the young Belgian, a technical player, comfortable with both feet and endowed with a good vision of the game, corresponded to the project largely focused on young people at strong potential (Diop, Matazo, Geubbels…). But the ASM ended up selling it three years later to Feyenoord for 2.2 million euros.
