Manchester United have reportedly found the name of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s successor. According to information from The Athletic, Ralph Rangnick, the current head of development for Lokomotiv Moscow, has reached an agreement with the Red Devils to take over the interim until next June. Then the 63-year-old technician could become a Manchester United consultant in the next two seasons. However, the northern England club have yet to finalize final details with their Russian counterpart.
The British media, however, specifies that Ralph Rangnick should not be on the bench of Manchester United on Sunday at Chelsea. A role that should therefore return to Mickael Carrick, who took over Tuesday night at Villarreal, for a victory (2-0) which allowed the current eighth of the Premier League to ensure a qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League next winter.

In the past, Ralph Rangnick has coached in the Bundesliga on the benches of Hanover, Schalke 04, Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, where his playing concepts have made his reputation. However, his mission with the Red Devils should be limited to the current season. While the names of Mauricio Pochettino, Zinédine Zidane, Lucien Favre or Rudi Garcia have circulated in recent days, the northern England club would therefore prefer to take their time in order to attract an emblematic coach corresponding to their dreams of greatness.
