As announced by Xavi on Tuesday, Miralem Pjanic has left Barcelona to join Al-Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Loaned to Besiktas last season, the Bosnian international (107 caps) was not part of the Barcelona coach’s plans this season. The 32-year-old midfielder has signed freely with the Emirati club for the next two seasons.
Arrived from Juventus during the 2020 summer transfer window, Pjanic will only have played 30 matches with the Catalan club, in all competitions. He will join Spanish striker Paco Alcacer, who arrived this summer and also passed through FCB.
