Fiorentina announced Friday evening that they have signed Luka Jovic, 24, from Real Madrid. The Serb, who arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt against a check for 60 million euros in 2019 to compete with Karim Benzema, leaves the Madrid capital with a starving record: only 3 goals in 36 appearances in La Liga (he had finished the 2020 season- 2021 on loan to Eintracht).
Eager to get rid of his Serbian international (26 caps, 9 goals), the European champion decided to release him to facilitate the transaction with the Viola. Italian media report that Fiorentina failed to pay compensation to Madrid for the transfer of Jovic who had two years left on his contract. But Real should receive half of any future sale.
» Fiorentina are happy to announce the signing of Luka Jovic from Real Madrid on a permanent deal “Said the Florence club in a press release, without specifying the duration of the contract or its amount.
Jovic won a Champions League, two Spanish Championships and two Spanish Super Cups during his three years in Spain.
