Lucas Paqueta leaves the Rhône for the London suburbs. The Brazilian international (33 caps, 7 goals) officially signed up on Monday until 2027 with West Ham. The English club spent exactly €61.630 million, including €18.680 million in bonuses spread over the player’s 5-year contract, to secure the services of the midfielder. An additional incentive of 10% could be added to any capital gain, while 15% of the amount of the transaction will be donated to his former club, AC Milan.
Absent during OL’s trip to Reims on Sunday (1-1), Paqueta has already left a void in the Lyon midfield, after having played the first two days of Ligue 1 with the Olympian team. Arrived in the summer of 2020 from the Milanese club for €20 million, the 25-year-old Brazilian will have shone with his technical quality during his two seasons in Lyon. The new Hammers player will have scored nine goals per season in the Championship with Les Gones.
