Transfers: Lens recruits Polish full-back Przemyslaw Frankowski (Chicago Fire)

Twenty-four hours after having sold his reservist right-back Clément Michelin to AEK Athens for a little more than 900,000 euros bonus included, RC Lens debauched his replacement in MLS. This Thursday, the Polish international and right side Przemyslaw Frankowski, 26, successfully passed his medical examination.

The former striker, a versatile player, is committed for the next five seasons. The Artesian club disbursed just over € 2.3m in favor of the Chicago Fire, with which the player was linked until December 2022.

Frankowski had been followed for several months

The Sang et Or have been following Frankowski for several months. The player had also caught the eye of the recruiting cell when he came into play against Spain during the last Euro (1-1, June 19). The departure of Michelin, who did not wish to extend on several occasions and came to the end of the contract in June 2022, precipitated negotiations concerning the transfer of Frankowski when the player had just scored with his club in Philadelphia (1-1 , August 2) in position of … left piston.

In the meantime, this Friday, the arrival of the Austrian international central defender of Ghanaian origin Kevin Danso (Augsburg, AUT, 5 M €), Lens has therefore just reinvested the money from Michelin plus the training allowance he will recover (€ 1.5m) on the transfer of Raphaël Varane sold by Real Madrid to Manchester United for € 50m. This prevails over his sporting ambitions which are still intact.
