Transfers: Gil Dias leaves Monaco for Benfica
Paul Mitchell, the sporting director of Monaco, announced it on Friday afternoon: « Gil Dias will leave Monaco at 99% ». This rate quickly rose to 100%: the ASM announced the transfer of the 24-year-old winger in the evening. The Portuguese Under-21 international has been transferred to Benfica, where he signed a five-year contract, until June 2026.
Last season, Gil Dias was loaned to FC Famalicao with whom he played 33 games and scored two goals. Under contract in Monaco since 2014, he has mainly been loaned to Varzim, Rio Ave, Fiorentina, Nottingham Forest, Olympiakos and Granada. The amount of the transaction is 1.5 million euros. It had been bought for 5 million in Braga.
