Los Angeles FC has recruited Spanish international striker Cristian Tello (31, 1 cap) until the end of the season, with an option for two more seasons, the Californian franchise announced on Friday.
Tello will take the place of foreign player vacated by Uruguayan striker Brian Rodriguez who has just joined Club America in Mexican D1.
Tello joins Western Conference leader Gareth Bale, Giorgio Chiellini and former Stéphanois Denis Bouanga. The Barça-trained player was at the end of his contract with Betis Sevilla where he has spent the past five seasons, after spells at FC Porto and Fiorentina.
His signature coincides with the heaviest of the six defeats conceded this season by the LAFC, dryly beaten (4-1) Friday evening in Texas by his dolphin Austin, who comes down to six points.
