One of the last big names in free agency, Tomas Tatar signed a two-year contract with the New Jersey Devils.

First reported by PuckPedia, the deal will net him an AAV of $ 4.5 million.

The 30-year-old has spent the last three seasons with the Montreal Canadiens, where he scored 149 points in 198 games. He had a year off this season, scoring 30 points in 50 games and found himself making just five playoff games in the Habs historic race for the Cup.

For the Devils, this is one of the best offseason of any team. They recruited the best free agent in Dougie Hamilton and a strong goaltender in Jonathan Bernier. The Devils also acquired Ryan Graves from the Avalanche.
