FOOT US – Did these kids make the best number mistake of their life? The students of the pre-school “Notre Dame” basketball team in Michigan wanted to strike up a group conversation between teammates. But one of the phone numbers dialed was wrong, as you can see in the video at the top of the article.
They mistakenly added American football champion Sean Murphy-Bunting. The American cornerback plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, one of the best American football teams in the world. They won the Superbowl in February.
“You wanted to add me to this group?” The player replies on the conversation, before adding: “you know who I am?” Taken aback, the high school students first think of a joke from their teammate. Sean Murphy-Bunting ends up revealing his identity, then sends them a selfie in the Bucs locker room.
After a few exchanges of messages, the pupils still think of a deception. The champion then decides to contact them in FaceTime. Their eyes light up when he starts a locker room tour to show them the team’s players on video. With a simple number mistake, they find themselves face to face with Leonard Fournette, Mike Evans, Richard Sherman, and superstar Tom Brady.
Chat with their idol
Leonard Fournette, who plays in the running back position, talks with them for a good ten minutes. They end up asking him to talk to their idol: Tom Brady. “Tom is a personality for high school students,” specifies Léonard Fournette. Who wouldn’t want to admire a guy like that? ”
The famous quarterback has barely left the meeting when Fournette hands him the phone. “What’s up guys? he says. The young people, delighted, were able to discuss with the champion. “What a great experience for our boys,” said high school coach Jason Whalen on Twitter. “They didn’t have to do all that for us,” adds one of the students, at the microphone of local media WDIV. The misadventure of these young people will undoubtedly remain engraved in their memory.
