Tkachuk case will be settled before camp, says Dorion

Brady Tkachuk is expected to reach an agreement with the Ottawa Senators before training camp begins on September 22, general manager Pierre Dorion said Thursday.

The forward, who is a compensated free agent, led the Senators with 36 points (17 goals, 19 assists) in 56 games last season. He finished second in the NHL in shots on goal (220) and body checks (250).

“We had some positive discussions,” Dorion told 590 The Fan station on Thursday. Are we confident to reach an agreement before the start of the camp? Yes. These negotiations are not always easy. It takes a little longer. « 

Selected fourth by the Senators in the 2018 NHL Draft, the 21-year-old forward has 125 points (60 goals, 65 assists) in 198 games.
