Three umpires kicked out for not getting vaccinated attack the NBA

Kenny Mauer, Mark Ayotte and Jason Phillips have sued the NBA. The three former referees accuse the league of having dismissed them from their position because they had not been vaccinated against Covid. They also accuse him of not having reinstated them despite the lifting of the vaccination obligation.

The three officials justified their refusal by religious beliefs, a justification that Kyrie Irving had also provided. They blame the NBA for having “adopted faith-based criteria” and feel they have been « persecuted ». The NBA and its attorneys declined to comment at this time.
