Called « Flachbau » (« flat nose » in the language of Goethe), an option offered by Porsche allowed the 911 Turbo to receive a new front, which was characterized by its retractable headlights and its pointed and flat muzzle. The car, lower than the standard version, also received widened wheel arches, giving it an incredible look.
This configuration was unfortunately far from cheap, and only 29 copies of the 930 Turbo Targa with these characteristics were sold between 1987 and 1989. One of them will soon be offered at auction by RM Sotheby’s, during a sale organized at the end of January in Phoenix, USA. Having traveled only 13,000 km since its delivery in 1989, this red car with tobacco-coloured interior will certainly interest many fans of the German brand around the world.
