The trade that would rid Dallas of Porzingis … and strengthen them!

After a particularly disappointing series of playoffs and increasingly controversial statements, Kristaps Porzingis is no longer really in the odor of sanctity in Dallas. A departure this summer is likely, and here’s a guess that would allow the Mavs to strike a very nice blow in exchange for the Latvian.

The Dallas adventure seems to be coming to an end for Kristaps Porzingis. A few weeks after the controversy launched by Mark Cuban on his relationship with Luka Doncic, the former Knicks signed a series of tasteless playoffs, very far from the level expected for a player who broke into $ 30 million annually.

To drive the point home, we learned that Zinger is very frustrated with his role in the Mavs, and the attack centered on Doncic. A departure seems inevitable under these conditions, and there is no doubt that the Texan front office is already working on trade hypotheses. With his defensive stopper profile that Dallas desperately lacks and his ability to sanction off, the pit bull would be an absolutely perfect addition for Luka Doncic and his teammates.

In this trade hypothesis, however, Tristan Thompson would be immediately cut off by Dallas. Why ? To release his $ 10 million salary, plus the $ 5 million earned in the trade. In total, an envelope of 15 million, which will probably be added to the hole of 18 million left by a Tim Hardaway Jr at the end of the contract and who will fetch a big check. The idea is obviously simple: use these tens of millions to sign a real impacting top player. Last player in the Dallas side deal, Carsen Edwards would serve as a “throw-in” to make the case work financially.

For Boston, such a trade would constitute a bet: that of believing in the rebirth of Kristaps Porzingis. Often light on the inside, the C’s could be tempted to revive the great Latvian from the ashes to accompany Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

It must already be thinking about countless scenarios on the side of the Dallas front office, well aware that we must quickly turn the page Porzingis. With the interest shown in Smart, will Boston be the ideal trading partner? In view of this scenario, one can think so.
