the Spanish Grand Prix renews its contract until 2026

Formula 1 has renewed its contract with the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for the Spanish Grand Prix until 2026.

F1 said in a statement that as part of the new deal, improvements will be made to the circuit and facilities ahead of next season’s race on May 22, 2022.

These improvements will include upgrades and improvements related to the circuit’s sustainability plans, the statement added.

MotoGP, the premier category of motorcycle racing, has also renewed its agreement with the circuit until 2026.

The new contract guarantees the Catalan GP a place in the 2022 calendar and « confirms a minimum of two other events to be organized between 2023 and 2026« .
