Jerseys, crampons and a beautiful sun: on October 22 and 23, in Mérignac, in Gironde, took place the Challenge of the six nations of the « football while walking », bringing together 300 players. Photo report.

The basic rule of this variant of football ? L’« no running », summarizes the French Football Federation. the « football while walking », born ten years ago in England, was entitled to his first mini championship. On October 22 and 23, in Mérignac (Gironde) the Challenge of the six nations of the « walking football ».
Unlike soccer « traditional », the practitioners respect several rules putting the physical in the background. Basically: we do not run, contact is prohibited. This gives pride of place to the vision of the game, the placement, the collective agreement… And allows everyone to play, especially the oldest.
In Mérignac, the national walking football teams of France, Italy, England, the Spanish Basque Country, Wales and Ireland opposed each other, at the initiative of the French Football Association in walking and football district of Charente-Maritime. Three hundred participants were gathered, male teams (over 50 and over 60) and female (over 40). Here is an overview of the tournament.
