“The Pay Zone”: It’s time for the NFL Conference Finals

Only four finalists still in the running for the Super Bowl! In a corner, in Kansas City, it’s time for the reunion between Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes, for the Bengals and the Chiefs. In the other corner, in Philadelphia, the defense is in the spotlight, as are two hungry young quarterbacks.

“The Paying Zone” is in the front row since Stéphane Cadorette is dispatched to Philadelphia on behalf of the Journal de Québec and the Journal de Montréal. What’s the vibe in town? Are Philadelphia fans nervous? You’ve come to the right place to find out.

In the national conference, the Eagles were the most convincing team in the second round of the series, they who destroyed the Giants. The task promises to be colossal, however, in the face of the formidable defense of the 49ers and the irresistible push of their quarterback who came out of nowhere to impress the gallery, Brock Purdy. For their part, the Eagles are betting on an ultra-athletic quarterback in Jalen Hurts, a formidable ground game and the defense that has managed the most quarterback sacks this season. A whole duel in perspective!

In the American conference, the Chiefs and the Bengals reconnect, in a rematch of last year’s final, during which the Bengals surprised the Chiefs at home. Besides, these tough Bengals have beaten the Chiefs three times in just over a year. How will Patrick Mahomes be affected by his ankle injury? What are the forces present that will make the difference?

Our two analysts from “The Paying Zone” go through the two duels with a fine-toothed comb and, of course, deliver their predictions.
