The p. DFO summary. 232 – Free Agent Preview
[ad_1]
Draft week in Nashville has passed. At the start of the week there were a lot of big trade rumors and nothing really materialized as the league gathered at Bridgestone Arena. Why were things so quiet? Frank and Jason dug this today on the pod.
We saw a few moves like the Josh Bailey trade and subsequent buyout, the trade the Blackhawks made to acquire the rights to Corey Perry, and the Oilers moved to clear cap space. Frank talked about the chances of Perry actually signing in Chicago and Jason gave some insight into the Oilers’ decision to leave Kailer Yamamoto and Klim Kostin.
From there, they talked about what they expect to happen on July 1, when free agency opens. This year’s free agent class doesn’t have many high-end options, but there are plenty of useful players. They offered some predictions of what could happen this Saturday.
Tyler also came in for another edition of Fill in the Blank to ask the guys about JT Compher, Blake Wheeler and the rest of the decisions the Jets have to make.
