The next destination of Basel already known?
Gareth Bale is expected to leave Real Madrid at the end of the 2021/22 season when his contract ends, so he starts looking for a new club. The Welshman may have found one in Major League Soccer, with interest from DC United. Their interest is serious enough that the USA team are already in talks with Bale’s representatives.
Basel to Washington
This is according to journalist Steven Goff of the Washington Post, who revealed that the two parties spoke to each other several months ago and are now exchanging proposals. If Bale were to join DC United, he would earn more than Wayne Rooney when he joined the team in 2018. With Rooney having scored 23 goals in 48 appearances, DC United are happy with how this experience with an older European player has gone and they would be keen to repeat it.
